McCreary County Government
McCreary County Government consists of elected officials including the Judge/Executive, four district Magistrates, and other public officials such as the County Clerk, Sheriff, County Attorney, Coroner, Jailer/Transport Officer, Constables, and PVA.
The Judge/Executive and Magistrates serve on the McCreary County Fiscal Court, meeting at least once per month, and setting policy and direction for county government and its departments, the annual budget and paying bills and claims of the county.
McCreary County Fiscal Court Meetings
Regular meetings of the Fiscal Court are currently scheduled for the second Thursday of each month at 6:00pm at the McCreary County Courthouse in Whitley City, Kentucky.
McCreary County Budgets & Financial Statements
The McCreary County Fiscal Court/County Government operates on a fiscal year running from July 1st through June 30th each year. A budget is adopted by Fiscal Court and accepted by the state for county operations.
The McCreary County Treasurer prepares and submits to Fiscal Court for approval a monthly financial statement, documenting revenue, expenditures and current account balances for each month.
The McCreary County Finance Officer prepares and submits to Fiscal Court for approval a monthly claims list, documenting claims against the county for each month of the fiscal year.
